ENTERTAINMENT SNIFF

Ok i know i have been MIA am really sorry but na long thing if i wanna start explaining sha. Listen music in Nigeria is going to the next level and am so glad it is happening in my time fo'real. Take a look at how that man is enjoying "yahoozee". He is the former secretary of state and his name is Colin Powell, he is the latest politician to get the urge to emcee, as the respected Washington veteran performed an impromptu freestyle this week at London’s Africa Rising Festival. The festival, which has become a popular showcase for African music and culture, paired Powell with true son of Nigerian soil Olu Maintain, originator of the Nigerian dance and song “Yahoozee.” Powell, to the crowd’s shock, alternated between performing the dance and spitting various call and response chants into the mic. After his set’s conclusion, Powell took a moment to pontificate with the crowd on the importance of African heritage, acknowledging our culture and never dismissing or forgetting it despite our achievements.

well on to another jist, the long awaited MOBO award has come and gone but just incase you don't know lemme be the first to tell ya that 9ice is the best artist in Africa according to MOBO! He did it!!! I knew he was gon get it (typical 9ja follow follow abi.lol). On a serious note i always felt he had a greater change due to his use of proverbial lyrics, coupled with his unique style and brilliant vocal ability. Plus i analized that if he could be invited due to his hit song Gongo Aso to internationally recognised by performing for Mandela at his 46664 Birthday Concert, then he was very popular and his music was accepted by Africans.

Abolore Akande a.k.a 9ice competed against the likes of Magic System, Jozi, Jua Cali, Hip hop Pantsula Wahu, P-Square, Asa, Faze and D’Banj to win the award.

So that's it for now would try my beat to update......thanks for being there. kisses.

WAS I ON POINT?

Niyi Tabiti my buddy is doing this thing on the best dressed Nollywood actress and this was my review.

Truth be told, i cannot get past counting on one hand the ladies in Nollywood that should go for best dressed. But am gonna be nice and TRY to raise the number to more than 5.
Hey ladies we talking best dressed here and good looking or beautiful and blah blah blah, lets not stray ok?
Here is my review.

1) I honestly think Rita is the best dressed. She always turns up simple and elegant. Even in her movies, i have never caught her looking off or dressed awfully. Her jewellery is always on point with what she wears and the functions. It takes a fashion conscious person to know the sort of fashion that suits the function. She pays attention to her skin color-cloth selection (part of the reason she does not look like a disco light or appear dirty unlike some people we know in Nollywood). Though I must admit Rita takes some risk that turn out flawless. She probably has the same fleshy body like ini but she how well she hides yet flaunt her body without looking like a TRAMP! She definitely does it for me so here goes -89%. Well her low point is her signature headties……first they well kool now they are so old….so predictable.

2) Stella just like Rita cannot be caught dressing awful. She keeps her game tight. She just does it without effort which is probably the difference. On set and off set she dresses amazingly well. She gets 85% for being her…..a natural fashionista!

3) People have ignored Dakore……why? She dresses well. Never overdoes it or makes an effort about her dressings. Though wearing on type of hair (dreads) could blind some people’s fashion 3rd eye I can look beyond it. I know when people tend to wear the same hair it makes people overlook details. Dakore in her movies looks just great and looks even better away from the set. She is HAWT! She surprises with her dressing because to those who overlook the details, they think Dakore and their minds think “pair of pants and top with amazing healthy dreads” but HELL NAW!!! She is not afraid to surprise us with her –BE SPOKE style. She gets 82%

4) Stephnie Okereke should be the second. Some people might not agree with me but she definitely deserves it.
In her movies in the past i was always pissed off with her "jumpe jumpe" trouser/pants. She never wore her size of pants it was usually short. Other than that she was kool. She has even further stepped up on her dressing since she got back from the states. Now she's on point. Steph gets a 74 outta 100!

5) OMOTOLA: you could yell out WHAT!!!! But really ammma straighten this out. She dresses well no doubt but damn! Ya’ll get too caught up with her beautiful face and too hot body for a mum of (help me out here 4 or 5five kids)! Well i don't drool over that well cuz i ain't gay so i always review her dressings. I noticed she sometimes leaves some things hanging out….some flesh and all which in the fashion books ain’t always kool. Would rate her average, say 68%. Staying away from the blondys could help shoot up your score by the way.

6) Kate is a pretty dresser and she takes risks. She could flip her dressing from retro to whatever you can think of and still pull it off by looking stunning. She knows just how to use her slim figure with the sort of clothes that compliments her figure, color and might I add knot knees. She bags in 67% for her fashion.

7) I have to go with gene on this one despite my brain telling me her dressings are so so boring. Though i feel the only reason she takes this spot is because she started doing the "copy-cat" thingy wif Nike Oshinowo. She was a bag of trash before the rumoured..............Atiku-Nike stuff. Tell me you don’t see Nike Oshinowo in gene and you would be the greatest liar that ever lived or the blindest. She stepped up no i take that back she flew up (bad English....i know) her game by having Nike as a fashion mentor. i can authoritatively say she was so wack and RAZZZ with her dressings. She was so used to wearing common clothes that either looked too cheap or were cheap for her status.
Now i can safely say she is a step away from a trashy dresser.....well safe for the bleached skin. Would give her 51%. Now her best effort still leaves her looking old, why?

B-BOYS BRING THE RAUKUS AT BATTLE-OF-THE-YEAR QUALIFIERS.
Nigeria’s entry into the league of international B-boying nations officially kicked off at the Vault in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday the 26th of June 2008 when almost forty crews from across the country converged for the national qualifiers of Battle of the Year 2008.

Widely recognized as the definitive hard-core break-dance competition, "Battle of the Year Nigeria" lived up to its pre-event hype and created the perfect platform for b-boy crews to represent the art-form in its purest state.

The franchise owners, Now Muzik in partnership with Nigezie had organized pre tournament interactive sessions with the scores of crews that had registered on line to emphasize the uniqueness of Battle of the Year, also referred to as BOTY. The competition format and criteria for judgment was clearly communicated to ensure that crews whose acts do not emphasize the top-rock, foot work, power move and freeze, either do not bother to enter for the qualifiers, or do not expect to make it to the finals.

After three hours of scintillating choreography and heart-stopping stunts, thirteen crews made it through to the grand finale scheduled for July 6 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos, Akoka.
The finalists are All Stars (Lagos), Revolutionary Soldiers (Lagos), Space Unlimited (Lagos), Watch It (Lagos), Anonymous (Ibadan), Tripple X (Lagos), Dynamite (Lagos), Knack Stomp (Benin), Born 2 Dance (Lagos), Universal Soldiers (Lagos), Star Squad (Lagos), Born Masters (Lagos) and C.I.A (Lagos).

One of these crews will emerge as Nigeria’s first representative at the African regional finals slated for July 19 in Dakar, Senegal and depending on the quality of the opposition, could possibly make it to the world finals in Hannover, Germany later this year.

BOTY Nigeria 2008 has been made possible by sponsorship consideration from Power Fist Energy Burst, Close Up, Stage Makerz, Jatt Inc., Encomium Weekly, Little Brothers Global Entertainment, Digiprints, Cytech Prosound, Hip TV and Adatin Restore.

YAK GETTING MARRIED

Yakubu started his marriage ceremony with the traditional rites in Abeokuta on yesterday, he will be concluding with the white wedding on Saturday in Lagos. Yakubu Aiyegbeni yesterday (Wednesday) in Abeokuta, Ogun State performed the engagement rites on his hearthrob, Yvonne Lammy Ikhana, daughter of Kano Pillars FC tactician, Kadiri Ikhana. Yvonne Lammy Ikhana, daughter of the 61-year-old tactician would be his second daughter to get married to a famous footballer. Few years ago, the first daughter of the veteran coach was hooked by Eagles’ star, Patrick Ovie, who is based in The Ukraine.

Current coach of the Super Eagles Amodu Shaibu, who is among the movers and shakers of Nigeria football fraternity that stormed Abeokuta to witness the engagement party, said that Aiyegbeni was a responsible man and that his wife to be would enjoy him very much. Amodu, also called on other members of the Super Eagles who are still single and searching to hasten things up and quit bachelorhood.

Also present in Abeokuta to fecilitate with Aiyegbeni include former Super Eagles’ defence masetro, Pastor Taribo West, Flying Eagles Chief Coach, Ladan Bosso, Ogun State Commissioner for Sports, Bukola Olopade and ailing former Flying Eagles tactician, Musa Abdulahi.

WOULD BE UPLOADING PICTURES FROM THE TRADITIONAL WEDDING LATER!

Meanwhile Super Eagles of Nigeria and Bnei Yehuda FC of Israel safest pair of hands Dele Aiyenugba went to the alter on Thursday with the one his heart beats for. Dele Aiyenugba who used be in goal for Enyimba finally sealed his seven years relationship with Tina, as he formally tied the nuptial nut on Thursday in Lagos. I hear Aiyenugba’s wife is a former footballer with the defunct Oladimeji Tigress. Na wah o! so so football sha!

OYINBO DON MAD!

Na wah sha for oyinbo! I find this very spooky. Well some Ukrainian undertakers say they have built the world's first death-themed restaurant - in a 65ft long coffin.

To make matters worse the huge casket is decorated with dozens of wreaths and normal-sized coffins. Now these normal -sized coffins are like cubicles. You open your coffin, and get in or seated to be served by the waiters who are signaled by the sound of the cemetery sounding bell in your cubicle. Diners can order from a menu that includes "Nine Day" and "Forty Day" salads - named after local mourning rituals - and dishes called "Let's meet in paradise", "Resurrection", and "Death".
With all these one proverb keeps ringing in my head "to dine with the devil you must use a long spoon". Verily verily i say.........what happened to running for dear life or i dey over react?
Nna forget it! All for what value you may wanna ask right? Exactly the same question that was popping like craaaaazy in my head..........argh!!!!

The so called coffin restaurant is called Eternity, and is the work of a funeral parlour in the town of Truskavets, in the west of the country near the Polish border.
The undertakers hope their restaurant will be confirmed as the world's biggest coffin, attracting tourists to a region currently best known for its mineral-rich bathing waters.
Guinness World Records confirmed the biggest coffin title is currently unclaimed, but said they had yet to receive an application from Ukraine.

What do ya'll think? Would you go there? yes? Well what for..........curiosity? What would ever make you go there?

WHAT'S GOING ON?

While the scars in our hearts has not healed from losing Evangelist Sonny Okosuns, Sammy Needle, and Elder Steve Rhodes another vibrant and popular musician,Chief Oliver De Coque has been lost. I gather he died on Friday night. I am a sucker for good music especially those ones that identify where am from. i love high life, fuji music, 9ja music, hip hop, rock, pop, e.t.c. I grew up listening to highlife especially Oliver's music and watching his music videos, i even remember "rotate baby rotate", "mbiri o ibiri kam biri.......", "onwere nkwu mmo ne timkpu o........nukwu mmo puta obodo agbawa oso................." damn i can go on and on. I also remember watching him on certain evenings on NTA performing, Biri kam biri, olisa ka anyi nayo, people's club, Otimkpu, all fingers are not equal e.t.c.

As a kid i was intrigued by his permed hair and beards, i used to tell my mum with all serious analysis that he had to be Okonkwo's (Pete Edochie in things fall apart) brother, she would laugh untill she had tear rolling down her eyes.

Forget prince, Oliver de Coque made me get my first (well) and only guitar as a child, never gave my dad any moment of rest till i finally got mind and on those special evenings when he performed on NTA i would do my rendition in the living room and have my parents screaming "shut up and sit down young woman".

Just some weeks ago prior to d'banj's(Importer, exporter KOKOWATER) new track igwe, i made a joke on my show that d'banj wanted to take over music business from 2shots, Niggar RAW, and illbliss, and pweety soon would join Oliver de Coque reading out from a piece of paper hailing business merchants. So you can only imagine the shock i felt, it was like a thunderbolt! I cried profusely, the people around me started asking if i was related to him or if i knew him. You don't have to know anyone to feel the pain of losing some one. He inspired me, he entertained me! Let me shock you even further- i had plans to have him perform on my wedding day (whenever that is!lol) that is how much i appreciated him.

Shame on you death!!!! He looked all so strong at the Nigerian Music Award in Imo state last month. May God rest his soul because he is with you o' lord!

MEN ALL OVER THE WORLD IN BED!

German men are the world's worst lovers, according to a poll of 10,000 women travellers. They are branded selfish in bed while second-placed Swedes are too quick.
Third are the "too rough" Dutch, followed by "too dominant Americans, "soppy" Welshmen and "too loud" Scots.
Englishmen were voted 10th worst for being too chubby. Turks were sweaty, Greeks smelly and Russians hairy.
Women from 50 countries were quizzed on social networking site WAYN.com.
Italian men were voted best lovers followed by males from France, Ireland, South Africa, Australia, Spain, Denmark, New Zealand, Brazil and Canada.

Well i have so many adjectives to describe Nigerian men -"unromantic", "energetic", "possessive", "too adventurous".

Do ya'll have more ideas or how do you wanna brand them?

YOUR ENTERTAINMENT FIX!

I WANT A TASTE OF THAT...........HMMM I TAKE THAT BACK!

If you recall not so long, controversial actress Eucharia Anunobi without apology started parading her younger lover to the world. If you think that was mind shaking enough try the latest news from her.........DIVORCE. Nollywood actress, Eucharia Anunobi has filed for divorce against her husband Charles Ukwu. I gathered that since she made public the divorce proposals have been comingher way in droves.

ROMEO AND JULIET

A while back on my show on Radio, i gave an exclusive gist that Ikechukwu Uche was dating a nollywood actress but never wanted to unveil her yet. Reason? Well don't know but i have learnt that you never beleive all you hear. Being in those shoes could help you understand how it feel like. Well no more blind items would just say tell it to you straight.....................Uche Jombo is dating Ikechukwu Uche. who knows what it could up in - any ideas?

COULD IT REALLY BE TRUE?

Iniobong Edo the one you most likely call Ini Edo has been found by cupid. Apparently we gather she is about to yell "good bye sprinsterhood! hello marriage!". We hear she took her Philip Ehiagwina to Akwa Ibom for a whole week to see her folks. I trully hope this is for real, we are happy for her.

BROTHER GAT GAME! DAMN!!!!

80 year old Veteran of West African Folk Music and the greatest living influence on West African Contemporary music, Fatai Rolling Dollar has reportedly impregnated his German lover. Reports have it that the 27 year old lady Helen, is said to be six months pregnant. Just so we are clear, i started out stating his age so you could explain where all that energy come to do "da jingyly". NMA winner, who has 14 children already, plans to make Helen his 3rd wife.

"COOK THE THEIF"
Forget that i might have the calm girl look......no try me i be agbero o!lol! I can't stand theifs! Nollywood beauty, Omotola Jalade-Ekeide was recently robbed by her cook. He has been identified as Felix Gerald and is from Benin Republic. He stole her laptop, one million naira and a thousand pounds sterling which were budgeted for an intended trip. Felix made away with his loot a day before Omotola was to have travelled to the United States.

ALBUM RELEASE!!!!

New albums are going to be raining pretty soon. Already the koko master d'banj is blazing things up on the radio with mo gbono, olorun ma je, and kimon. The response has been electrifying i mean-"haba" it's D'banj- African Micheal Jackson. Don't be mad ya'll really because he described himself that way and he was not wrong at all. D'banj is one dude i know puts out a song and it's gotta be a hit! Damn! On my show, his songs are been requested for like "every time". I gather his album is titled "entertainer" which seems appropriate knowing it best describes him. I particularly can't wait for the album to drop.

I also hear it will also be album release time for Kefee, Segun Obe, Weird MC, Kween and Azadus PWeety soon. I would have said it would be a hard time picking from these lot but just remembered it's just N150(lol!).

Well there some albums just out sha, heard Mr kool just got out his album and guess what? He now calls himself THE BRIDGE na wah sha! IRMC!
The Abuja-based boy band Styl-Plus is back. And better. And that is the title of their second (some might say third) album. The first single in about, well, four years, the group had to overcome rumors of break-ups and squabbling within the group and between the group and the label.
After a lot of deliberation, the trio decided to make that the introductory single because "first of all, most of the groups broke up after their first album and second, they've been quiet for a while.. But then, dem still dey o!" In the four years since they've been away, they've been extremely busy setting up for the sunset of their lives. According to Tunde, "different people were doing different things. Shifi and I floated their recording/ management companies. In addition Shifi went into the real estate business, I have some investments in agricultural, and Zeal started his building/ contracting company."
Shifi continues. "With the new album out, there's less attention on individual projects until we've done our touring and promotion around the country, Africa, Europe and America. When we're satisfied that we've spread it as far as we can, then we can give more time to other things. So for now they are in the back seat!"The theme of this album has taken a dramatic turn from the usual love songs that Styl-Plus became popular for. Zeal explains. "The main reason for deviating from the regular love songs is for variety of content, to avoid sounding monotonous from album to album".

Meanwhile, the group has been constantly berated for the quality of videos it parades. As a result, the group has decided to raise the bar with the videos for songs on this album. To this end, they will be working with "a totally different set of directors to work with on different songs."
The Back N Better album was released prematurely by the company responsible for the marketing and distribution and the primary distributor. It was released about three weeks to a month before its original release date without Styl-Plus knowledge and before the group had time to properly promote their lead single, 4yrs. Legal action was contemplated by the group due to the drop in quality of the first batches produced and the possible negative publicity that the short period of initial promotion might have resulted in. But in a bid not to cry over spilt milk the group has decided against going to court over the issue and would rather concentrate on touring and future promotion.
The group personally calls this album "The Controversial Album" based on the controversy surrounding both the recording and release of the album.
Styl-Plus first shot into the limelight in 2003 with the smash hit "Olufunmi". They followed that up with
"Runaway" and "Call My Name" which established them as one of the biggest R&B acts in Nigeria.

Well PWWeety soon hit-maker extraordinaire 2face Idibia who we gather is in the studio working a collabo with R.kelly (pied piper of R"n"B) is set to shelf his baby drama and release his third solo album. 2face who featured Beenie Man in the remix of his hit Mfana Ibaha is hugely expected by to steal to the heart of millions of fans internationally.

His reputation has been in a bad shape in recent times (baby drama wahala, baby mama1 vs baby mama2 vs baby mama3, non-stop media yabs-sorry factual bashings) so he would need this album to warm his way back to the hearts of the fans. He should also keep it in mind that he has got competition!

PRINCE PETER AND PAUL IN HOTEL RWANDA

Fear not people it's not a movie!!! They are just reaping the beauty of being a celebrity. they are currently in Rwanda and once again not making a movie but "stomping the stage in Rwanda".

Known for their energetic dance moves from their childhood to their now successful career, p-sqaure are in Rwanda for a 5day tour concert.

If you thought that P-square were only making the ladies scream "we love you" only in 9ja.....well ya'll better think again. According to authentic sources the ladies were almost collapsing at the airport and when the performed. Thank God for the power of technology if not the screams from the ladies would have been strong or rather LOUD enough to overshadow the music. P-square were treated by princes by the Rwandans well @least we know that not every artist gets to be welcomed by the minister of sports and tourism who also came to the airport with other government officials were star struck. Correct me if am wrong but the only time i remember the shotcallers (government officials) did that was during the THIS DAY CONCERT when newly weds Jigga And Bey were here.

P-square is damn hot in Rwanda that the ticket got sold out in less than a week! phew!

I gathered that they got lodged in popular HOTEL MILLE COLLINE formerly known as HOTEL RWANDA. It also happens to be the same hotel where MORROCO's football national team (Mustafa Hadji and co) are lodged ahead of a qualifier match between Rwanda tomorrow. They are billed The cause you know Mustafa hadji and co are facing the Rwandans national team on Saturday and we are billed 2 be there live and witness the big march. ...the concert kicks off 2moro at the PETIT STADIUM..... Thanks.... would give u more information later

HACHET BURIED

There's been a whole lotta yarns about a rift between X-profile and Konga and from the whispers i get, it seems to be buried. If you are an ardent disciple of celebrity gist you will recall that thw row started when Konga’s name was missing on the first set of the Sierra Naija album. Sierra Naija album contains the mind boggling hit track ‘Lorile’ and it won the Hip Hop Song of the Year at the last Nigeria Music Award in Imo State, Nigeria.
spoke to Konga as soon as i got off my show and he confirmed that the rift has been settled.
Konga says, in life there is bound to be misunderstanding but the whole thing has been resolved.

I have been trying to confirm from the X-Project dudes but there's mad MTN network problem on my phone but will holla @ ya'll when i get the gist from the other side.
i can almost imagine what they would say tho'......."printer problem.....blah......blah...... They gon blame it on the printer(give the young dude his credit already.lol!).
Meanwhile, my snooping around made me find out that they are getting ready to celebrate the award. I hear it is tagged ‘Lorile Night’, the event has been fixed for 21 June 2008. your question must be where the party@? i know...... it's Reloaded(formerly 11.45 now owned by Akeem Shodehinde) on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. Ruggedman, 9ice and DJ Chascolee would be there hold it down.

9ice's new album Gongo Aso is now available internationally. The album which has been a huge hit in his home country promises to be a hit on the internationally scene as well. Not only is the album available for special order in international stores, it is also available for digital download on the popular online music store CD Baby and is coming soon to other digital download places such as Itunes, MSN Music, Napster, Amazon and many more. 9ice, who came into the limelight with hit songs like Gongo Aso, Little Money, Ganga Man and Street Credibility is working hard to further his game because like he said, don't doubt him, he go bring home Grammy.

THE LATEST ADDITION TO REFUGEES
You know the popular saying “there is no place like home”? Well there is no place like home quite alright because 2faces home is the most dangerous place to him right now, he feels the hotel his new refugee is safer than his home. Do you blame him? A rat does not wait to see if the cat has it's claws filed or sharpened before he takes cover. They say he has abandoned his Festac home for a hotel, Comfort Suites, also in Festac. Right now i stay shaking my head(SMH), how stupid can anyone be to runaway from your home because the bad guys know where you live and then seek a refuge and make it public? Is it just me but don't we start as fools and become wise through experience?

MAKING IT RAIN
In a little while from now kingsley ogoro would have the naira in six to seven digits rolling in. He just acquired a 35mm celluloid camera. This has been the reason why so many artistes have been going to South Africa to shoot the video of their songs.
ü P-SQUARE – DO ME
ü FAZE – TATOO GIRLS, SOMEBODY
ü WEIRD MC – CURRENTLY IN SOUTH AFRICA (SHE IS ALSO THERE TO PICK UP HER ROYALTIES FROM MTV)
ü 2SHOTS - IS GETTIN READY FOR HIS JOURNEY TO SOUTH AFRICA ON SUNDAY16 FOR HIS VIDEO SHOOT.
The N6million camera was also the reason why Jeta Amata had to fly in professionals from out of the country to Nigeria to film the movie Amazing Grace.
I am particularly happy, because that would mean good quality of movies and music videos and some artistes(you know yourselves) won’t have to make all the lies about the embassy not giving you visa and our dear Nollywood would stop using the old school carmeras! Phew!

IF ONLY......

Every time you log onto your favorite social networking website Facebook, the founder is making money.

Mark Zuckerberg was just another geek who use to spend more time on his PC then networking, ultimately coming up with a brilliant idea to meet new people online through Facebook making him a proud owner of 1.5 billion dollars. According to the Forbes, Zuckerberg is the youngest self-made man ever to make its list, reports People Mag.

Now if only Nigerian "yahoo yahoo" could just see that there is a more to "Magarism" and more to "creativity" with a PC.

HAPPY VALENTINE!!!

I am sitting typing this, beginning to get irritated by the "unofficial" white and red dress code. who the heck chose those colours? Is it just me but doesn't red send any signal but love? In my own opinion red "SCREAMS" sex!!!! Again if you notice love is hyped around valentine's day but the practice is sex (a drive around town to hotels around you would convince you because "FULL BOOKED" is always the answer). Red could also send all the wrong vibes for valentine, especially for those of you with a dirty mind. *wink*. red lips, red light district, red lingerie, red rose petals on a red satin bed e.t.c. Well don't fret red has never been good news does "red stands for danger" ring a bell? Why did they not chose a safer colour like blue?
Well lets talk about other symbols connected to valentine:
HEART-It was formerly believed that the heart was the seat of all human emotions. Accordingly, the gifting of a heart signified the selfless act of giving everything to someone you love. Though the ancients were not aware that the heart was responsible for pumping blood though the circulatory system, yet they knew one thing for sure that the heart was the center of all feelings. This ancient belief has lingered on through the ages.
CUPID-The love and attraction that a man and a lady feels for one another is traditionally ascribed to the mythological god,Cupid. In Latin, the word Cupid means "desire." Cupid is represented as a naked, chubby boy with wings and possessing a mischievous smile. He carries a bow with a quiver of arrows which he uses to transfix the hearts of youths and maidens.
The Rose
From time immemorial, beloveds have been compared to roses. If we juggle the letters of the word ROSE we get EROS, who is the God of Love. Rose has thus been the traditional choice of lovers around the world. The colour red is associated with strong emotions and below are listed sentiments expressed by different hues of rose:- Lavender -- Enchantment and Uniqueness
Orange -- Fascination
Pink (Dark) -- Thankfulness, Friendship and AdmirationRed -- Love, Respect and Courage
Peach -- Modesty, Gratitude, Admiration and Sympathy
Pink (Pale) -- Grace, Joy and Happiness
Deep Red -- Beauty and Passion
White -- Innocence, Purity, Secrecy, Silence, Reverence, Humility and (according to some sources) True Love
Yellow -- Joy, Friendship, Jealousy, Hope and Freedom
Black -- Farewell
Red/White -- Unity or Engagement
Yellow/Orange -- Passionate Thoughts
Peach -- Modesty, Gratitude, Admiration and Sympathy
Pink (Pale) -- Grace, Joy and Happiness
Yellow/Red -- Congratulations
Rosebud -- Beauty, Youth and a Heart Innocent of Love
Red Rosebud -- Purity and LovelinessWhite Rosebud -- Girlhood
One Dozen Red Roses -- "I Love You"
Single Red Rose in Full Bloom -- "I Love You"
Tea Roses -- "I'll Remember Always"
LOVE KNOTS-They are made of ribbons and are traditional symbols of interminable and everlasting love.
so do you have other symbols you can think of?
