Well besides marketers seeking him left and right, 9ice is packaging one of the best albums 2008 will see with collaborations that cross over various markets. 9ice, whose real name is Abolore Akande has also been nominated for multiple categories in the up coming 2008 Hip Hop World award which is set to hold on March 15, 2008. The gist going around town is that his too hot ear busting single “gongo aso” is the next yahooze!!!! It is rumoured that his performance at the event is the most anticipated.
Just when we thought it was over for a while, he has also been nominated in the maiden edition of the sound City music video award for Best New Artist. This one is about to blow your mind 9ice’s popularity is increasing at a drastic rate and is averaging over 700 plays a day on myspace. The only other Nigerian artist currently doing that is 2face Idibia. 9ice is proving himself to be a fan favourite and one of the most unique artists of our time.
