ENTERTAINMENT SNIFF

Ok i know i have been MIA am really sorry but na long thing if i wanna start explaining sha. Listen music in Nigeria is going to the next level and am so glad it is happening in my time fo'real. Take a look at how that man is enjoying "yahoozee". He is the former secretary of state and his name is Colin Powell, he is the latest politician to get the urge to emcee, as the respected Washington veteran performed an impromptu freestyle this week at London’s Africa Rising Festival. The festival, which has become a popular showcase for African music and culture, paired Powell with true son of Nigerian soil Olu Maintain, originator of the Nigerian dance and song “Yahoozee.” Powell, to the crowd’s shock, alternated between performing the dance and spitting various call and response chants into the mic. After his set’s conclusion, Powell took a moment to pontificate with the crowd on the importance of African heritage, acknowledging our culture and never dismissing or forgetting it despite our achievements.

well on to another jist, the long awaited MOBO award has come and gone but just incase you don't know lemme be the first to tell ya that 9ice is the best artist in Africa according to MOBO! He did it!!! I knew he was gon get it (typical 9ja follow follow abi.lol). On a serious note i always felt he had a greater change due to his use of proverbial lyrics, coupled with his unique style and brilliant vocal ability. Plus i analized that if he could be invited due to his hit song Gongo Aso to internationally recognised by performing for Mandela at his 46664 Birthday Concert, then he was very popular and his music was accepted by Africans.

Abolore Akande a.k.a 9ice competed against the likes of Magic System, Jozi, Jua Cali, Hip hop Pantsula Wahu, P-Square, Asa, Faze and D’Banj to win the award.

So that's it for now would try my beat to update......thanks for being there. kisses.

WAS I ON POINT?

Niyi Tabiti my buddy is doing this thing on the best dressed Nollywood actress and this was my review.

Truth be told, i cannot get past counting on one hand the ladies in Nollywood that should go for best dressed. But am gonna be nice and TRY to raise the number to more than 5.
Hey ladies we talking best dressed here and good looking or beautiful and blah blah blah, lets not stray ok?
Here is my review.

1) I honestly think Rita is the best dressed. She always turns up simple and elegant. Even in her movies, i have never caught her looking off or dressed awfully. Her jewellery is always on point with what she wears and the functions. It takes a fashion conscious person to know the sort of fashion that suits the function. She pays attention to her skin color-cloth selection (part of the reason she does not look like a disco light or appear dirty unlike some people we know in Nollywood). Though I must admit Rita takes some risk that turn out flawless. She probably has the same fleshy body like ini but she how well she hides yet flaunt her body without looking like a TRAMP! She definitely does it for me so here goes -89%. Well her low point is her signature headties……first they well kool now they are so old….so predictable.

2) Stella just like Rita cannot be caught dressing awful. She keeps her game tight. She just does it without effort which is probably the difference. On set and off set she dresses amazingly well. She gets 85% for being her…..a natural fashionista!

3) People have ignored Dakore……why? She dresses well. Never overdoes it or makes an effort about her dressings. Though wearing on type of hair (dreads) could blind some people’s fashion 3rd eye I can look beyond it. I know when people tend to wear the same hair it makes people overlook details. Dakore in her movies looks just great and looks even better away from the set. She is HAWT! She surprises with her dressing because to those who overlook the details, they think Dakore and their minds think “pair of pants and top with amazing healthy dreads” but HELL NAW!!! She is not afraid to surprise us with her –BE SPOKE style. She gets 82%

4) Stephnie Okereke should be the second. Some people might not agree with me but she definitely deserves it.
In her movies in the past i was always pissed off with her "jumpe jumpe" trouser/pants. She never wore her size of pants it was usually short. Other than that she was kool. She has even further stepped up on her dressing since she got back from the states. Now she's on point. Steph gets a 74 outta 100!

5) OMOTOLA: you could yell out WHAT!!!! But really ammma straighten this out. She dresses well no doubt but damn! Ya’ll get too caught up with her beautiful face and too hot body for a mum of (help me out here 4 or 5five kids)! Well i don't drool over that well cuz i ain't gay so i always review her dressings. I noticed she sometimes leaves some things hanging out….some flesh and all which in the fashion books ain’t always kool. Would rate her average, say 68%. Staying away from the blondys could help shoot up your score by the way.

6) Kate is a pretty dresser and she takes risks. She could flip her dressing from retro to whatever you can think of and still pull it off by looking stunning. She knows just how to use her slim figure with the sort of clothes that compliments her figure, color and might I add knot knees. She bags in 67% for her fashion.

7) I have to go with gene on this one despite my brain telling me her dressings are so so boring. Though i feel the only reason she takes this spot is because she started doing the "copy-cat" thingy wif Nike Oshinowo. She was a bag of trash before the rumoured..............Atiku-Nike stuff. Tell me you don’t see Nike Oshinowo in gene and you would be the greatest liar that ever lived or the blindest. She stepped up no i take that back she flew up (bad English....i know) her game by having Nike as a fashion mentor. i can authoritatively say she was so wack and RAZZZ with her dressings. She was so used to wearing common clothes that either looked too cheap or were cheap for her status.
Now i can safely say she is a step away from a trashy dresser.....well safe for the bleached skin. Would give her 51%. Now her best effort still leaves her looking old, why?

B-BOYS BRING THE RAUKUS AT BATTLE-OF-THE-YEAR QUALIFIERS.
Nigeria’s entry into the league of international B-boying nations officially kicked off at the Vault in Victoria Island, Lagos on Thursday the 26th of June 2008 when almost forty crews from across the country converged for the national qualifiers of Battle of the Year 2008.

Widely recognized as the definitive hard-core break-dance competition, "Battle of the Year Nigeria" lived up to its pre-event hype and created the perfect platform for b-boy crews to represent the art-form in its purest state.

The franchise owners, Now Muzik in partnership with Nigezie had organized pre tournament interactive sessions with the scores of crews that had registered on line to emphasize the uniqueness of Battle of the Year, also referred to as BOTY. The competition format and criteria for judgment was clearly communicated to ensure that crews whose acts do not emphasize the top-rock, foot work, power move and freeze, either do not bother to enter for the qualifiers, or do not expect to make it to the finals.

After three hours of scintillating choreography and heart-stopping stunts, thirteen crews made it through to the grand finale scheduled for July 6 at the Indoor Sports Hall of the University of Lagos, Akoka.
The finalists are All Stars (Lagos), Revolutionary Soldiers (Lagos), Space Unlimited (Lagos), Watch It (Lagos), Anonymous (Ibadan), Tripple X (Lagos), Dynamite (Lagos), Knack Stomp (Benin), Born 2 Dance (Lagos), Universal Soldiers (Lagos), Star Squad (Lagos), Born Masters (Lagos) and C.I.A (Lagos).

One of these crews will emerge as Nigeria’s first representative at the African regional finals slated for July 19 in Dakar, Senegal and depending on the quality of the opposition, could possibly make it to the world finals in Hannover, Germany later this year.

BOTY Nigeria 2008 has been made possible by sponsorship consideration from Power Fist Energy Burst, Close Up, Stage Makerz, Jatt Inc., Encomium Weekly, Little Brothers Global Entertainment, Digiprints, Cytech Prosound, Hip TV and Adatin Restore.

Yakubu started his marriage ceremony with the traditional rites in Abeokuta on yesterday, he will be concluding with the white wedding on Saturday in Lagos. Yakubu Aiyegbeni yesterday (Wednesday) in Abeokuta, Ogun State performed the engagement rites on his hearthrob, Yvonne Lammy Ikhana, daughter of Kano Pillars FC tactician, Kadiri Ikhana. Current coach of the Super Eagles Amodu Shaibu, who is among the movers and shakers of Nigeria football fraternity that stormed Abeokuta to witness the engagement party, said that Aiyegbeni was a responsible man and that his wife to be would enjoy him very much. Amodu, also called on other members of the Super Eagles who are still single and searching to hasten things up and quit bachelorhood.

Also present in Abeokuta to fecilitate with Aiyegbeni include former Super Eagles’ defence masetro, Pastor Taribo West, Flying Eagles Chief Coach, Ladan Bosso, Ogun State Commissioner for Sports, Bukola Olopade and ailing former Flying Eagles tactician, Musa Abdulahi.

OYINBO DON MAD!

Na wah sha for oyinbo! I find this very spooky. Well some Ukrainian undertakers say they have built the world's first death-themed restaurant - in a 65ft long coffin.

To make matters worse the huge casket is decorated with dozens of wreaths and normal-sized coffins. Now these normal -sized coffins are like cubicles. You open your coffin, and get in or seated to be served by the waiters who are signaled by the sound of the cemetery sounding bell in your cubicle. Diners can order from a menu that includes "Nine Day" and "Forty Day" salads - named after local mourning rituals - and dishes called "Let's meet in paradise", "Resurrection", and "Death".
With all these one proverb keeps ringing in my head "to dine with the devil you must use a long spoon". Verily verily i say.........what happened to running for dear life or i dey over react?
Nna forget it! All for what value you may wanna ask right? Exactly the same question that was popping like craaaaazy in my head..........argh!!!!

The so called coffin restaurant is called Eternity, and is the work of a funeral parlour in the town of Truskavets, in the west of the country near the Polish border.
The undertakers hope their restaurant will be confirmed as the world's biggest coffin, attracting tourists to a region currently best known for its mineral-rich bathing waters.
Guinness World Records confirmed the biggest coffin title is currently unclaimed, but said they had yet to receive an application from Ukraine.

What do ya'll think? Would you go there? yes? Well what for..........curiosity? What would ever make you go there?
